Music has always played a big part in my life. My tastes are quite varied, yet I find my most favorite songs always are performed by women. When you combine this with my love for metal and escape to the classical you come up with a very interesting genre of music.
Symphonic metal gets its roots from early gothic metal, power metal and classical music. Bands in this genre of music are mainly female leads both vocally and visually. The vocalists of symphonic metal bands tend to sing mezzo-soprano melodies in the style of opera.
The group Therion which started as a death metal band where the first to incorporate a fully live orchestra and to write their music with the symphonic elements of classical music as an essential part of their musical style.
As this site grows I will feature the artists that have become a special part of my life. Please enjoy them with me.
